FOUNDER & CEO
Piet’s passion for biking began in his childhood in South Africa, where he cycled with his friend and classmate, Chris Froome, one of the best cyclists in a generation. The challenge of navigating on a bike became fully apparent to Piet when he biked across the United States, and he dedicated himself to a solution through the power of software. Piet graduated from Yale University, where he was a cyclist and member of the Yale Crew, stroking the varsity 8.
CO-FOUNDER & SVP PRODUCT
Laurence is a passionate mountain biker and engineer. He studied electromechanical engineering at the University of Cape Town while cycling and paddling competitively. He went on to complete his master’s degree at Brown University in 2013. Laurence is an expert navigator and seeker of innovation. From age twelve his room was covered in disassembled gadgets and bike parts. He spends time behind the camera and maintains a deep respect for nature.
CO-FOUNDER & SVP SOFTWARE
Raveen completed his undergraduate degree in engineering at The National Institutes of Technology at Surat in India, and his MBA at Lehigh University. He spent a decade as a full stack developer in Europe and the USA and has frequented hackathons all across the east coast, winning HackPrinceton in 2013. Raveen is a passionate cyclist and seasoned mountaineer. He has traversed some of the most perilous glaciers in Europe.
VP HARDWARE
Robert studied mechanical engineering at Yale and is a lifetime outdoorsman, cyclist, and Yale Crew Alumni. Robert is motivated by elegant design, novel solutions, and innovative thinking. He is seasoned in the world of hardware startups and robotics and the founder of SupplyBetter. He is a creative thinker and explorer, a constant tinkerer and practical alchemist. He lives in Shenzhen with his wife, Elyse, and the Hammerhead company dog, Grizzly.
VP SOFTWARE
A native of Lancaster, PA, Brian brings to Hammerhead over 30 years of software development and management experience. His career has put him in charge of leading enterprises from content distribution platforms to home automation systems. A two-time Boston Marathon qualifier and member of a NCAA Division II national champion cross country team, Brian eventually switched from running to cycling and is now an avid rider. He holds his master’s degree in Software Engineering from Penn State.
SVP OPERATIONS
Jon studied History and Archaeology at Yale University, graduating in 2013. He has been an avid cyclist and rower since his childhood in South Africa, and was a member of the Yale Heavyweight Crew Team in college, captaining it his senior year. Prior to joining Hammerhead Jon worked for Endeavor Global, and then the White House, traveling to coordinate more than 30 domestic and international trips for the President of the United States.
VP OPERATIONS
George graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Marine Affairs, and proceeded to run his family owned hardware integration firm, building their multinational presence in the global shipping industry. George discovered his love for the outdoors through a childhood spent mountain biking, hiking, and camping across the beautiful landscapes of Greece. He is a detail oriented creative thinker, with a passion for fitness and all things tech.
