Hometown Hero: Hunter Kelley
Hammerhead ambassador Hunter Kelley's first foray into cycling was unplanned. While attending a car festival in 2015, he randomly saw a friend who asked if he knew how to use Photoshop software. Luckily, he did and was offered an internship with custom bike builder Parlee Cycles. Fast forward 9 years, and Kelley is now a New York City-based photographer/graphic designer working for Parlee, spending his free time riding around the Big Apple.
Kelley is always keen to pack his bike bag and ride in new places. New York City may not seem ideal for cycling, but he appreciates Prospect Park and Central Park’s consistent, repeatable, and car-free routes for training or to clear his head. To escape the city, Kelley heads across the George Washington Bridge, which he recently did for the Pas Normal Studio Midsummer Challenge - a 200 km singular ride between June 21-30. With his Karoo leading the way, Kelley reliably navigated the adventure with ease.
